Registering/enlisting with CPWD means you become an eligible contractor/vendor to bid for CPWD works/tenders (buildings, roads, civil works) via the CPWD portal. 

Here are some of the main criteria:

• CPWD issues different classes/“licenses” for contractors in the Buildings & Roads category (and separate for Horticulture).

• Your firm (proprietorship, partnership, private limited, etc) has to show previous experience, financial strength (turnover, net worth) etc. Documents like PAN, GST, proof of constitution, list of work completed/ongoing, banker’s certificate or net-worth certificate, etc. 

Typical list of required documents:

• Proof of constitution of firm (e.g., registration certificate)

• PAN, GST registration certificate

• Work completion certificates / experience details (Annexures for completed/ongoing work) 

• Banker’s certificate or net-worth certificate for financial soundness 

• List of relatives working in CPWD (conflict of interest) sometimes required
